DRUG AND ALCOHOL
Drug and Alcohol Policy
YES Camp sets high standards of personal conduct. These standards include rules against intoxication or possession of intoxicants, use or possession of illegal drugs. Any Staff member or Camper who is in possession of or under the influence of alcohol, huffing, narcotics (otherwise known as illegal controlled substances) including marijuana in any form including vaping will be immediately dismissed from YES Camp and their travel arrangements to return home will be made at their own expense. This is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy.
PHONES AND ELECTRONICS
Cell Phone Policy
Because cell phones can become a distraction from the purpose of our camp, we are asking that all campers (teens and pre-teens) leave their cell phones at home. If a parent needs to reach their son or daughter at camp, call the Camp Office numbers listed below. We appreciate your understanding.
(662) 541-5016
(504-373-9921
(225) 354-5766
(901)-674-2064
(901)-236-2026
Note
If a parent would feel more comfortable having their child bring a cell phone to camp for safety reasons, you must give your authorization. This authorization is included on the ONLINE APPLICATION form. We will require that all campers get permission from a senior staff person before making a call. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that the campers are calling a parent or guardian. If a camper abuses the policy, we will contact the parent or guardian to come pick up the phone or allow us to keep the phone in a safe place until the end of camp. Thank you for your cooperation on this policy. (We can not be responsible for lost or stolen items including cell phones that are not under our care.)
Electronic Device Policy
It is our desire to limit the distractions that our campers might face while at camp. Therefore we ask that you leave all electronic devices at home. If a camper brings an electronic device (such as an iPad), we will contact the parent or guardian to come pick up the device or allow us to keep the device in a safe place until the end of camp. (We can not be responsible for lost or stolen items including electronic devices that are not under our care.)
